Blast vs Partiful: Video Invitation or Event Page?

Blast and Partiful are both free and both work from one shareable link. They differ in what the link opens and how guests reply. Blast makes free animated video invitations with music that guests RSVP to from a link, with no app and no account. Partiful opens an event page with a poster, themes and effects, where guests RSVP with their name and phone number and a texted code. Here is the comparison and when each is the better choice.

Do guests need an account to RSVP?

On Blast, no: a guest taps the link, picks Going, Maybe or Can't, adds a name and replies. On Partiful, a guest enters a name and phone number and verifies with a texted code, and logs in with that number afterwards.

Can I add music on Partiful?

Not on the page itself. Partiful's help center says a song or playlist can't be embedded, but a playlist link can be added. On Blast the music plays with the video and you choose the track.

Which is better for a kids' birthday?

Blast, in most cases. Parents reply from a text link without creating anything, the invitation is the kind of thing a child wants to watch twice, and there's no phone-number step. Partiful is built for social events among friends.

Are both really free?

Yes. Partiful says it is free with no paywalls, with optional paid designs. Blast is free to create and send, with no paid tier.
